Jessica Simpson Saddened by Her Parents' Split: Source

Her parents may be getting a divorce after 34 years of marriage, but Jessica Simpson is coping with the situation well, according to a source.

"She's going on with everything," the source tells PEOPLE. "She's sad, but she's okay."

In fact, Simpson, 32, who is now a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, has been going along with her routine, which lately has included returning as a mentor on the NBC show Fashion Star, planning a Halloween party for her 5-month-old daughter Maxwell and friends, and making regular trips to the gym to work out with her trainer, Harley Pasternak.

Four days per week, "no matter how tired is, she goes to the gym," the source says. "She keeps her workouts the same."

Meanwhile, two days after a rep for the family confirmed his split from Tina Simpson, Joe Simpson stepped out without his wedding band.

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," the rep said. "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."

There’s more to burlesque than breasts and basques

Kelly Brook explains the allure of 'artistic' stripping

Kelly Brook and Forever Crazy
Gorgeous ... Brit pin-up Kelly Brook is to join French cabaret troupe Forever Crazy on stage

WITH their beautiful corsets and elegant style, burlesque dancers are seen as the acceptable side of stripping.

Brit pin-up Kelly, 32, will be the latest celebrity to take part in the art form when she joins top cabaret show Forever Crazy on London’s South Bank for a week from next Thursday.
Here, the model explains why women love burlesque – and why it is not just about the nudity.
IT might surprise some people to hear that getting my kit off is not what I’m about.
I don’t need to be in a strip show and that isn’t what burlesque is about — it’s so much more than just the striptease.
It’s an art form which has been around for more than 170 years and when it started in the 19th Century, stripping wasn’t even part of it.
It began with working class performers putting on a show to mock the posh toffs in society — the ones who wore haute couture and attended the opera.
The original meaning of “burlesque” is to caricature or parody.
Of course, working class men loved this sort of naughty humour and flocked to the clubs in the 1840s, and women quickly followed.

There were also variety acts featuring unusual-looking girls, almost like freak show acts.
They didn’t necessarily take their clothes off either at first, but certain showgirls would strip and gradually they became the focus of the shows.
Every act would be based on a different idea or story. So you had amazing women such as Lola Montez with her Spider Dance. In her routine she acted as if she was being attacked by spiders and she removed items of clothing in order to get the spiders off.
At the end of her performance a spider killed her — it was a completely mad act.
Then you had places such as the Moulin Rouge which opened in Paris in 1889, famous for the can-can which is like an early form of modern burlesque.
It’s no surprise that burlesque has continued to be so popular and in recent times celebrities have helped make it more mainstream.
Most famous of all the current stars is Dita Von Teese, known for her performances in a giant martini glass.

The Pussycat Dolls — originally fronted by Nicole Scherzinger — were a burlesque troupe before they got into the pop charts.
A lot of famous, glamorous women including Carmen Electra, Eva Longoria and Pamela Anderson made guest appearances in their cabaret act.
I have long been a fan of burlesque because, at its heart, it is about the celebration of the female form and women being empowered.
You’re on stage, you’re untouchable, you have amazing costumes and choreography and you’re up on this pedestal.
That’s why burlesque is so popular with female audiences — women like looking at beautiful women.
The show I’m in is a touring production of the famous Le Crazy Horse, which has run in Paris since 1951.
It’s completely different from your usual burlesque.
You won’t see feathers and big glitzy bustiers, it’s really chic and all the performers are classically trained dancers.
I saw it in Paris about four years ago and fell in love with it.
When I was asked to appear as a guest in the London production, I jumped at the chance — even though I’m pretty nervous.

All the performers, except me, will be fully naked, so the audience see everything but in the most beautiful way.
The choreography, lighting and a few other top-secret tricks are used to create a peekaboo effect.
It’s the best, and the sexiest, show in the world.
People such as Christian Louboutin have long been fans and I’ll wear a pair of his shoes when I take to the stage next Thursday.
The routine I’m doing, Lecon d’erotisme, is one of the most iconic parts of the show and is performed on a red lips sofa designed by surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
I keep taking clothes off until I get down to my lingerie. Thankfully, as a guest performer I don’t have to strip to the nude.
Dita Von Teese once said: “It must look effortless... it never is, of course, but every move, every piece of clothing removed has to look like it’s second nature.”
I’m finding that the most difficult challenge. My routine is so precise that literally everywhere my finger lands is choreographed, but it has to look very natural.
One of the loveliest aspects of burlesque is it is women of all shapes and sizes expressing themselves. Many of the performers are really curvy and that’s fantastic.

A lot of women try to do sexy in in far too obvious a way.
I have always tried to retain some wholesomeness and some mystique in my career, just like the old pin-ups such as Marilyn Monroe with their girl-next-door naivety.
That’s the same with burlesque. Women aren’t threatened by the performers because they are normal, lovely girls who aren’t going to come and steal your boyfriend.
You can tell how popular burlesque is now by the rising sales of corsets, suspenders and basques on the High Street.
I have an underwear range at New Look and that’s very much about 1950s-style glamour. In burlesque you will have layer upon layer of lingerie. The girl will take off her corset and she’ll have a bra and knickers on underneath, and then she’ll have nipple tassels on.
You’re always removing items but keeping something to yourself as well — it leaves the audience wanting more.
There are currently more than 50 burlesque shows a week across the country, but an increasing number of burlesque classes have also sprung up in recent years.

Women can go to learn burlesque themselves, or groups of hen parties go for a bit of a giggle.
I don’t think it’s about spicing up people’s sex lives — that’s not what burlesque is about.
If you want titillation, you can get that on the internet. If you want a strip show, you can go to Spearmint Rhino or Stringfellows.
The work, the choreography, the couture costumes, everything that goes into burlesque is about making it a gorgeous show.
People aren’t coming to see my show to see my boobs — or if they are, they are very much mistaken.

Saucy... on a sexy sofa

KELLY is to perform la lecon d’erotisme, pictured here – or “the lesson of eroticism”.
Traditionally, a crucifix-wearing dancer – on a sofa designed to look like a pair of red lips – moves around seductively mouthing the words to an erotic French song – and stripping off.
It ends with her lying flat on the sofa, naked except for her stockings.
Kelly says she won’t do the “Full Monty”, but is keeping mum as to how she plans to perform the iconic dance.

A MUM returned to her luxury flat to find two of her children stabbed to death in the bath — with their nanny laying injured next to them.

Marina Krim, 38, was with her three-year-old daughter Nessie when they made the grim discovery in her home near Central Park, New York.
Carer Yoselyn Ortega lay on the bathroom floor with self-inflicted knife wounds to her neck.

A neighbour said Ortega, 50 — who is in police custody suspected of killing the kids — was only hired recently.
Music therapist Rima Starr said she heard screams at around 5.30pm. She added: “There was some kind of screaming about ‘you slit her throat!’ It was horrible.”
Marina had initially thought the pair were out with the nanny before checking with a doorman. She returned to find their bodies in the empty bath. Cops found her in the lobby, screaming hysterically and clutching her surviving child.
A webpage devoted to a family wedding said “LuLu” loved “art projects, ballet, and all things princess”. Leo was said to be learning to walk

I will kill again

Chilling message on mirror at poison deaths hospital leaves patients terrified

Message

PATIENTS at a hospital where seven people died after being poisoned have been left terrified after a message was found warning: “I will kill again.”

The chilling words were drawn on a mirror in a patients’ bathroom and appeared when condensation misted it up.
The male patient was said to have been “deeply spooked” when he discovered the words — which we have mocked up above — on Wednesday and immediately told a nurse.
Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of the seven patients starting in 2011 at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. Some died months later.
Patients’ drips were tampered with and police believe insulin was injected into the saline solution. Another 15 patients were injected but survived. Police in Greater Manchester sent a team of officers to reassure and comfort staff and patients after the latest incident.

The message was wiped off by a nurse who feared it might cause further distress. Last night a source told The Sun: “People are really, really spooked.
“If it was anywhere else, you’d just think ‘Oh, it’s a prank’ — but this is the poison probe hospital. And to find the words, ‘I will kill again’ written on a mirror is deeply unsettling.
“The patient who saw it was really distressed.
“The words suddenly appeared on the mirror when the bathroom was full of condensation.
“Luckily the message wasn’t found on one of the wards that the poisoning investigation centres around but it has still freaked people out. Everyone is still traumatised by recent events and this just brought it all back when we’re trying to put it behind us.”

The source added: “It has left some people feeling uncomfortable and a bit panicky. If this is someone’s idea of a joke, then it’s just plain sick. A lot of families have been to hell and back — so how anyone can think of this as humorous is beyond me.
“People have lost loved ones — and this just rakes it all up again.
“If they catch the culprit, I just hope he’s severely dealt with.”
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are aware of a message that was found on a mirror in a patients’ bathroom at Stepping Hill Hospital on Wednesday 24 October 2012. It is believed the message had been written in the preceding 24 hours. No offences have been identified and the hospital is dealing with the matter internally.”
Nurse Rebecca Leighton, 28, was arrested last July but was later cleared of all charges.
Another, Victorino Chua, 47, was held in September 2011, after cops investigating the deaths found patient records had been tampered with. He was released on police bail after being questioned on suspicion of three counts of murder and 18 counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
